New Tennis Stadium in Khalifa Sport Park

Qatar Tennis Federation (QTF) is planning to build a new state-of-the-art retractable roof stadium very soon .The new tennis stadium will be a 12,000-seater close-and-open roof stadium. The Khalifa Complex which has been holding tennis tournaments (including the WTA Qatar Total) contains 27 hard courts and a stadium court with a capacity of 4,106 spectators which was enhanced to 6,911 in 2008. The enthusiasm for tennis has been increasing throughout the years and many fans are not able to find way into the stadium. This experience may become a thing of past in the coming years. The master plan vision integrates the Grand Park, the Sports Precinct and the State Mosque environment to encourage a new recreational ‘heart’ of Doha. The vision for the Khalifa Sports Park is to create a world class tennis facility and a sports-led destination for Doha.
